Title: Senior Devops Engineer

Location : Reston, VA

12 months Contract

Interview Process: 2 Skype, then In-person.  Locals to DC/MD/VA or from East Coast and willing to do Face to Face interview at their own cost.

Job Description:

The DevOps Engineer is responsible for working and collaborating with our software engineering, architecture and operations teams. The ideal candidate will use their system and networking knowledge to help maintain system health, monitor and design to scale. He/she will be responsible for implementing and maintaining continuous integration and continuous delivery infrastructure for application development teams. Key focus areas for this role are service quality, continuous improvements through process streamlining and automation.

Top Must to have: (ALL REQUIRED)

• Bash/Perl/Python
• CI/CD toolkit (Jenkins, Sonar, Svn, Git, Nexus, Maven, Ant etc.)
• Configuring and Deploying services on Linux/Unix
• Shell/Perl/Python/VBscript/Ruby/Jenkins
• Integrating various automated testing tools with continuous delivery pine line (e.g. Junit, Cucumber, Selenium, Jasmine, Phantom JS)
• Deploying and scaling web services
• Messaging infrastructure (TIBCO/Active MQ)

Key skills:

• Experienced Software Developer who is an expert in a variety of open source technologies, including Bash/Perl/Python.
• Build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations, troubleshoot and resolve issues in our development, test and production environments.
• CI/CD toolkit (Jenkins, Sonar, Svn, Git, Nexus, Maven, Ant etc.)
• Strong background in Configuring and Deploying services on Linux/Unix
• Linux and Open Source Software experience highly desirable
• Expert level with installation/configuration automation and scripting (Shell, Perl, Python, VBscript and/or Ruby etc.)
• Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
• Strong experience in building deployment pipelines in Jenkins to enable continuous delivery
• Experience in Integrating various automated testing tools with continuous delivery pineline (e.g. Junit, Cucumber, Selenium, Jasmine, Phantom JS)
• Experience with deploying and scaling web services on virtual infrastructure, experience with messaging infrastructure (TIBCO/ActiveMQ)
• Background in internet service architectures and a deep understanding of underlying technologies: TCP/IP, HTTP, load balancing, web servers, caching,  relational & nosql databases

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent practical experience
