Position- Oracle DBA

Duration- 6+ Months Contract to hire

Rate:  $55/hr on c2c

Interview:  Phone then in-person interview

Location- Austin, TX

Required Skills:

• Expert knowledge and experience in Oracle software installation, configuration, patching, and upgrade in Solaris or Linux environment.
• Expert knowledge and experience with Oracle technologies, including but not limited to RMAN backup/recovery, Data Guard, Golden Gate, Real Application Testing, DATAPUMP, Cloud Control, Solaris zoning for Oracle container.

• Expert knowledge and experience with Oracle database monitoring and performance tuning in addition to SQL tuning.

• Experience with performing Oracle database upgrades and migrations.

• Expert knowledge and experience with database disaster recovery design and management.

• Strong shell scripting skills in Bash, Bourn, or Korn shell, and PL/SQL to automate Oracle database administration tasks.

• Hands On experience with SAN technology and enterprise level backup software.
• Proven ability to train and mentor other team members.
• Well developed and demonstrable organizational skills.
• Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize (and reprioritize) tasks/projects in order to maintain required productivity levels.
• Proven ability to create clear concise technical documentation.
• Willingness to participate in database on-call rotation.


Education and Other Experiences:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, or engineering related field or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years' experience as an Oracle production DBA with 24x7 support. 

• 7+ years' experience in managing systems or implementing solutions in large enterprise environments.
• 7+ years' experience using UNIX/Solaris and or Linux Red Hat.
• 5+ years' experience in Oracle RAC, ASM, and Physical Standby/Active Data Guard.
• Oracle, Red Hat or relevant technical certifications a plus.
