Job Description: QA Engineer
Required: 3 contractors
Duration: 9 – 12 months – potential contract to hire only (citizens or GC)
Requested start date:  2/6

Location: Lansing, MI
Onsite in Lansing initially – may consider remote after first 1 month or so

Job Requirements (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

• Basic knowledge in automated test methodologies, software testing principles, concepts, verification, and validation techniques.
• Basic knowledge and experience of a least one of the following languages: JAVA, VB.NET.
• Basic knowledge and experience with web development languages: HTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML.
• Basic knowledge and experience with SQL with regard to writing and understanding queries and procedures.
• Basic understanding of object oriented design principles specifically developing functions, adding control flow logic, loops, etc.
• Ability to explain and communicate technical concepts clearly.
• Ability to maintain a consistent, productive pace in a changing technical environment.
• Ability to effectively lead, present, and facilitate meetings.
• Ability to generate creative solutions and apply design principles.
• Ability to successfully manage multiple projects in a changing technical environment.
• Ability to complete assigned tasks and move to or seek new assignment, with little oversight.
• Ability to create and maintain cooperative working relationships with IT and business partners.
• Ability to learn new products, programs, technologies, etc.
• Solid verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid orientation toward customer service.
• Solid analytical ability.
• Proficiency in MS Office Professional Products.
• Ability to work extended hours as needed.

 
Education and Experience Required

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and/or education.
• 1-3 years of experience in software developing or designing and developing automated test scenarios, via VB.NET or JAVA.
• 1-3 years business-related experience preferred.
• Financial services and customer service experience preferred.
