Primary Responsibilities:

• Accountable to the applications availability, performance and participate in high priority escalation calls (e.g. 24 x 7 x 365).

• Ability to respond to system issues, drive and participate in high – priority incident calls and emergency activities outside of standard office hours as needed

• Effectively manage multiple highly visible priorities at a time.

• Collaborate with internal and external application, business partners to gain understanding of their business needs and adapt departmental roadmap plans and priorities to address operational challenges.

• Leverage diversity and inclusion to drive employee engagement and foster teamwork and collaboration.

• Manage and ensure compliance with IT structures, processes and technologies while maintaining knowledge of and leverage IT industry technologies and trends.

• Influence or provide input to cost and capacity forecasting and planning activities.

• Build on the support of existing Wellness and Prevention applications and services.

• Accountable for supporting application primary areas within the support matrix: Integration of Services and audit/ gatekeeper application deployments into production.

• Coordinate, manage and be accountable for knowledge of all interfacing applications, services, API's, hardware and activities that support the Wellness and Prevention portfolio.

• Identify, develop, and promote proactive approaches to prevent issues from occurring and recurring.

• Effectively manage unknowns and successfully navigate a complex organization landscape

• Effectively communicate with IT and business stakeholders, including senior management and executive levels

• Drive and manage technical initiatives / projects as needed.

• Identify process improvement opportunities to ensure system availability as measured by key performance indicators and availability metrics and SLA's

• Solve problems relating to mission critical services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence; with the goal of automating responses to all non-exceptional service conditions.

• Influence and create new designs, architectures, standards and methods for large-scale high visibility distributed systems.

• Engage in service capacity planning and demand forecasting, software performance analysis and application system tuning.

• Enhance and Influence standards for configuration, monitoring, reliability and performance with constant focus on availability, latency, performance and capacity.

• Design and implement innovations that improve software velocity, infrastructure resiliency, security and data availability

• Solve live performance and stability issues that prevent recurrence

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.

• Experience with ITIL processes

• DevOps experience

• 5+ years of IT experience on web-based products

• 5+ years of experience of application development (or support) in a large enterprise environment on multiple platforms.

• 2 + years of leading distributed teams

• 2+ years of experience in one or more programming and scripting languages

• 2+ years of experience in use of open source software for development

• 2+ years of experience working on large scale, multiple team projects

• 2+ years of experience with Agile methodologies and Test Driven Development

• 2+ years of continuous integration experience (for example tools like Jenkins, Anthill Pro).

• 2+ years of experience in at least 1 high level programming language such as C++, Python or Java

• 2+ years of experience with at least 1 scripting language such as Perl, Python or PowerShell.

• 1+ years of experience with programmatic interaction with a relational database, preferably recent versions of Oracle or SQL Server.

• Ability and willingness to hold on - call responsibilities to respond to system issues 24x7x365

• Strong background in managing both software and systems leveraged by a very large scale IT department

• Ability to write code to use automation to make your job more efficient.

• Experience with configuration management.

• Understanding of load Balancing, firewalls, switching, routing protocols, DNS, caching algorithms

• Knowledge of distributed systems, like data consistency and availability tradeoffs when designing systems.
