Seeking a team oriented, hard working individual to further the work of the Virginia Dept of Education, by developing and testing processes and programming for the US Dept of Education, State Longitudinal Data System grant project.
Years of Experience:
8 to 11 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Job Summary: Works with a team to develop and test requirements for SQL statements that build tables and files to interact with custom-build automated query engines.
This job will require:
- Knowledge of relational database technologies, database design, data modeling techniques, and systems development life cycle.
- Knowledge of and experience with advanced SQL programming techniques.
- Knowledge of public education data and data management principals preferred.
- Considerable skill in utilizing PC-based software tools for communication, project management, analysis, and design.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments with critical deadlines; to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; and to work in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to create complex tables and data files according to pre-defined specifications.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement test plans.
- Demonstrated project management skills; excellent planning and organizational skills.
