An Application Developer works with business analysts to understand business requirements, prepare technical specifications documents, and designs, analyzes, develops, codes, tests, debugs and documents programming to satisfy business requirements. An Application Developer will be expected to become knowledgeable on any LOB system in the Legal suite of applications. The individual will execute assigned programming tasks, perform unit and system testing and participate in requirements gathering and design sessions as needed.
The selected candidate will support the Legal & Compliance Technology global suite of applications that manage legal case management, compliance assessment testing, legal processes and administrative back office functions.
Responsibilities
- Designs, analyzes, develops, codes, tests, debugs and documents programming to satisfy business requirements
- Design and deliver architectures, user interfaces, middle-tier and server-side components
- Work directly with business analysts and project managers and develop innovative technology solutions
- Research and evaluate alternative solutions and make recommendations
- Conduct data analysis of and resolve application production issues
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Technology or Computer Science
- 4+ years experience as an application developer
- Advanced skills and experience with SQL Server 2008 and T-SQL skills
- Intermediate to advanced skills with .NET 2/0 (2005/2008) GUI development
- Familiarity with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem solving techniques in a highly challenging, fast paced environment
- Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills; ability to logically identify process flows and design effective solutions
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships between business and technology community
- Legal systems experience is desirable
- Self starter with ability to work independently
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proactive attitude and keen sense of urgency to resolve business issues and problems
