Role: Big Data/Hadoop Administrator

Location: Chevy Chase, MD.

Duration:9 Months

Looking for a Big Data/Hadoop Administrator to be part of the Decision Sciences and Business Transformation team. Individual will be responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of high performing Hadoop clusters and integrating them with existing infrastructure. This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated individual to work on the next generation decision support system.

 

•                 Deep understanding of Hadoop architecture, HDFS, MapReduce and other components in the Hadoop echo system

•                  A minimum of one year experience in installing, configuring and tuning Hadoop distributions such as  IBM Big Insights, Cloudera, Hortonworks or MapR

•                  A deep understanding of Hadoop design principals and factors that affect distributed system performance, including hardware and network considerations

•                  Strong background in Unix/Linux administration and or networking is a plus

•                  Prior experience with supporting production applications and ensuring high availability is required

•                  Strong experience in Linux/Unix commands and scripting

•                  Good understanding of data security and compliance requirements governing sensitive data and how to secure data in Hadoop implementations

•                  Broad knowledge of infrastructure including compute, network and storage
