The Senior Java Developer will perform complex analysis, design, development, testing, and debugging of computer software ranging from operating system architecture integration and software design to selection of computer systems, language, and/or equipment. The incumbent will design, code, test, develop, and document application programs for computer systems. The Sr. Java Developer will work with users to define system scope and objectives.
Duties will include:
· Managing modifications to and maintenance of operational programs and procedures.
· Leading transformational initiatives such as use of Agile best practices and migration to future software architectures.
· Establishing project standards and processes.
· Leading stakeholder and product owner meetings to define software requirements and creates highly complex systems.
· Acting as a mentor to junior engineers.
· This is a strong senior development position on an Agile team that is building a management information system to support GAO's engagement mission.
Required: Basic Qualifications
US Citizen or Permanent Resident
6+ years of experience in Java / J2EE technologies (Spring, Hibernate)
3+ years of experience in RESTful Web Services
3+ years of experience in Agile development methodology
3+ years of expert experience with Oracle
Experience with DAO
Experience designing, building, and maintaining functionality for enterprise applications
Proven understanding of OOP and Design Patterns
Desired: Skills - Experience with AJAX/JavaScript libraries - ExtJS preferred
- Experience with Apache Solr.
- Experience developing reusable application components and library.
- Unit Test Experience with Junit
- Work in all aspects of Agile delivery including requirements, architecture, design, coding, testing, deployment, and documentation.
