Description:

Our client, located in Alpharetta, GA is in need of 1 MERN Full-Stack Developer for a 3 month contract with possibility for extension.  The MERN Developer will be supporting a local Agile development team of 8 front end and full stack developers, QA Engineers and Architects to support the client's software platform to make it easy for 3rd party data providers to become data sources. The MERN Developer will be responsible for using their strong JSON & JavaScript skills to provide the end user with self service interfaces in an Express.js/Node.js open platform, knowledge of Flux patterns such as Redux to build out secure REST API's and create customizable integrations with existing backend microservices, and develop in a RESTful web services MongoDB environment.

 

Required Skills:

•             3-5+ years' experience developing for RESTful WebServices or Microservices Environments

•             3-5+ years' experience using JavaScript.  Candidate will be expected to explain following:

o             Know what a closure is and how it affects/is affected by variable scope.

o             Know how the "this" context changes and how things like call, apply, and bind can influence that.

o             Know the differences between classical and prototypical inheritance.

•             Experience with JSON

•             Experience with Node.js and/or Express.js.  Candidate will be expected to explain the following:

o             Understand Node usage as both a front end and backend processing platform.

o             Know the Node event loop, how it works, and how it can be manipulated.

o             Understand the implications on application design to using a nested callback vs. event listener approach to dealing with asynchronicity.

•             Experience with React and/or Redux

•             Experience developing in MongoDB

o             Know when Mongo is appropriate, and when it isn't.

o             Understands how to model one to many and many to many relationships in Mongo.

o             Knows how to approach transactions in Mongo

o             Understands the scalability model.

•             Experience working in an Agile development environment
